"All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter another." - Anatole France, French novelist

Last week as I was "taking a break," I found myself falling apart like a soggy, wet noodle way over cooked.  See the train of change hit its breaks at my stop and I was forced to look at it straight in the eye and take the ride.  But honestly, I don't mind change as long as it's pulled off quickly like a band-aid.  It hurts but at least it's quick.  Of course, change is never that easy.

With change comes movement, a release of the past and a new found energy.  That all seems good to me.  But change can also mean growing up and accepting loss.  It can mean saying goodbye to what was and saying hello to the new.  And last week I was reminded that change is inevitable and that change is hard.

As I hit my six month mark with Noodles On The Wall on September 8th, I took the opportunity to dig deep and write down my goals for the next six months.  Noodles On The Wall began as a fun way for me to get creative and release the funny side of mamahood.  But as I looked at the bigger picture, I realized that NOW has become so much more.  For me, bringing light to creativity and mamahood is a movement, a community for moms to get inspired to Take On The Creative in their homes and in their careers and a place for creativity to touch our family's lives.  But in order to do all of this, I realized things needed to change.

So now, just when I got comfortable with my site's template and technology, I have to change it up so I can move forward.  This means relearning and saying goodbye to what had become easy and routine.  Let me tell you, for someone who is not technically savvy, that can mean the end of the world.  The band-aid is still slowly ripping off and it hurts!  But I have to throw my noodle because I believe in it....Even if it's a slow burn of pain I have to deal with.

Priorities shift and noodles transition.  And that means the train of change is inevitable. But we must see it, accept it and take the ride even when we know the wound will be hard to heal.  Change is hard but in the end, change is movement.
So when you are throwing your noodles, take a look at the big picture.  And if you believe in it,  take on the change so you can TAKE ON THE CREATIVE!  Even if it hurts.

Speaking of change, make sure you pause for those special moments because as we all know, change can happen fast with our little ones.  belle&beanzer, a past Stick Of The Week! is creating space for us to share and embrace the moment in a photo contest.  Share your most touching, difficult or hilarious moments that capture embracing the moment with your baby.  Go HERE to enter.

in the spirit of embracing the moment, half the fun is riding the actual ride. hugging the twist and turns. do you throw your arms up, or squeeze your eyes tight when you plummet? change can feel uncomfortable, but I say embrace it and you'll enjoy the ride more! Great post, Elena! you're such an inspiration!!!

Welcome to the Noodles On The Wall Blog, a place where I share the trials and tribulations of a creative noodle maker. (That's me!) My life is full of noodles and I've learned it takes a dash of inspiration and a pinch of creativity to throw them up on the wall to see if they stick. Hope you stick around!
