"Too many times women try to be competitive with each other. We should help support each other, rather than try to be better than each other."

I never thought much about donkeys, but recently, I learned that we have a lot to learn from them. I was told that when donkeys climb a mountain, they lean on each other as they journey to the top.
How amazing would that feel, knowing that no matter what, there was an entire group ready and willing to support you as you climb your way to the top. Through the baby steps, through the great strides, through the frustrating and tiresome moments when you want to give up, through it all, your donkeys would be there holding you, supporting you, ready and willing no matter what. And if we all had that, then we would probably bravely take each step forward every time because we could never truly fall.
I'm fortunate enough to be a part of a group of women, my very own donkeys. As we each climb our hills, our mountains and our bumps on the road, we lean. Each of us having our moments when we lean a little harder or a little softer, but we hold each others weight no matter what.
So as I learned about the magical donkey, I realized that if we each had our community of women who you could lean on, then maybe the world could truly be a better place. After all, I believe that women are powerful when we are given the space to be. We are the root that holds the tree. We are the love that embraces with our whole heart. We are the water and food that feeds our families. We are the skin that protects from harm. We are women.
So as you throw your noodles, lean and be leaned. Be a donkey for other women and show them that they are not alone. Find your own donkeys and climb your mountains.

And then........
Go and change the world.
Go and change the world.
