Our newest Stick Of The Week! is Wendy Ferraro and Little Shanti Yoga.  Wendy is in the NOW as owner of Little Shanti Yoga, where Wendy instills yoga practice at a young age.  As a former preschool teacher turned certified kids yoga instructor and holistic health coach, Wendy Ferraro gives children the opportunity to feel empowered through movement and breath.

Mindfulness thinking is also incorporated into the Little Shanti Yoga practice, allowing kids to have a sense of community amongst themselves.  With busy schedules these days, kids take on stress at a young age.  With Little Shanti Yoga, classes are open and free so that children can become more in tune with their bodies and world around them!

Tell us about your NOW (Noodle On the Wall).

All of my noodles have been thrown into my yoga pot!  I've been teaching kids yoga for almost 4 years now and business is booming!  What an amazing habit to teach these little guys and to start them at such a young age.  I am so thankful to have the greatest job in the world!

Is your NOW simmering, al dente or fully cooked and why?

My noodles are a little al dente in the middle because my work isn't fully done just yet.  I'm not sure if it will ever be!  I'm always thinking of new ideas, what my next step is, where I can go from here and how I can be different in expanding my business.

What recipes can you give other Creative Moms Taking On The Creative?

To simply think outside the box and not be afraid to be different.  Also, network as much as possible!

What motivated you to throw your noodle?

I realized that I loved working with kids, but I wanted to do it in a way where I could be my own boss.  At the time I started my business, I was getting into yoga and teaching a few poses here and there in my class.  Eventually, I just put the two of them together!

I didn't have a baby when I started my yoga biz, but now I do and I am so happy I have my own schedule and make my own hours.  This gives me extra time with him that other mommies may not get with their children.  I am so lucky to be able to be there as he grows up, as he starts to smile and laugh.  We have such a beautiful bond.  That time we have together is worth more than everything in the world!

What inspires you as a Mom and as a creative person?

Everything inspires me!  What happens in my classes, what goes wrong or right.  Even other people, especially people who have the same passions as I do!

How do you juggle Mamahood and your NOW?

I went back to work when my baby was just 2 months.  That is the one thing about working for yourself, if you don't work you don't get paid!  So it was time.  I took 2 months off before the baby was born as well, so I was ready!  Life was always busy for me, as I am always running around, but these days, it's even crazier.  Crazier in good ways though.  Good thing I am super organized because I am able to get a lot done at once.  I had no problems going back to work, just that I missed my little guy.  My hardest struggle is not taking as much "me" time.  I get frustrated not knowing if I will be able to make it to my own yoga class.  When you feel good, you do good...so it's hard not feeling your best sometimes, especially after that new mommy body has set in!

What is your ultimate pasta dish?

I am not a typical Italian. I prefer oil over sauce! And in some cheese, olives, tomatoes, maybe some arugula...getting hungry!

Welcome to the Noodles On The Wall Blog, a place where I share the trials and tribulations of a creative noodle maker. (That's me!) My life is full of noodles and I've learned it takes a dash of inspiration and a pinch of creativity to throw them up on the wall to see if they stick. Hope you stick around!
