THE MOMENT WHEN YOUR LIFE CHANGES

Everyone has a moment in their lives when their GPS takes a left turn instead of a right. For me, it was when I got fired from a role I was playing in a show.  In the eleventh hour, the producers had decided to add a song into the show that required me to hit an out of this world, Kelly Clarkson note that just was not in my range.  There was nothing I could do about it, but instead of actually telling me I was fired, I found out the hard way.  It wasn't until I read in the actor audition casting notices for the month, that I saw my role needing to be cast.  The door had been firmly shut in my face without even an acknowledgement, but oddly enough, as they say, another door unexpectedly opened.

Since most shows had been cast for the season, I was down in the dumps with a very bruised ego.  So, to clear the depression fog, my husband convinced me to try something new with my time.  We had always talked about me going into the voice over world and now that I had the time, creating a demo to send to agents seemed doable.  I'll be honest, part of this new venture was me just trying to keep my spirits up about being fired, and part of it was just me trying to keep busy and productive until another job came along.  But after I was fortunate enough to sign with a great agency, I found voice overs to be a blast.  I couldn't believe I could get paid to use my voice.......especially for characters and children.  It was awesome!  It was the perfect job for me because I could work in my pajamas and start the family I always wanted.  Who knew I would owe it all to getting fired and to Kelly Clarkson :)

So, when the door gets firmly shut in your face, although it may seem hard, maybe it's the moment when your life changes.  A time when you are forced to start a new adventure and open a door you never thought possible.

Welcome to the Noodles On The Wall Blog, a place where I share the trials and tribulations of a creative noodle maker. (That's me!) My life is full of noodles and I've learned it takes a dash of inspiration and a pinch of creativity to throw them up on the wall to see if they stick. Hope you stick around!
