Rhonda Fleischer, a fellow Nyack Mom and dear friend, is Taking On The Creative and making a difference in the lives of young girls. Her new program, Princess Warriors, elps young girls discover their power through creativity, connection and ceremony. I feel passionate about Princess Warriors because I only wish I had had the opportunity to take part in such an amazing experience as a young girl. So if you're in Nyack or at least near by, read on for more info on the program and how to sign your daughter up for Princess Warriors!
h In the comfort and joy of a circle of friends, girls aged 6 to 8 embark on a 10-week passage and find connection to their own power, other girls, their elders and the world around them. Each weekly gathering builds and circles back to these themes, using arts and crafts, girl-friendly sharing, movement, social action, ritual and fun. Along the way, in circle and at home, girls earn ribbons to mark their accomplishments. These ribbons are then woven into a crown, which is given to each girl during a community celebration that marks their final passage into Princess Warriorhood.
