I was recently having a conversation with a woman who said something that stuck like a good noodle sticks to the wall. When referring to her business, she said, "I don't have to do this. I get to do this." What a wonderful way to look at life and all of its noodles. Instantly, I thought about one particular noodle of mine that always fills me up and that I certainly am fortunate enough to "get to do."
The Hiccups! is a kid's band that I don't have to do, but gosh darn it I get to. Most importantly, I get to do it with my awesome husband! Together, we get to create magic through music, inspire kids to dream BIG, follow their hearts and rock on with their bad selves. We certainly don't have to do any of this, but thank goodness we get to.
It was such a great eye opening statement that this woman gave me. My husband and I have been toying with the idea of actually recording all of our material and creating an album. We've been talking about it forever but we always seem to get too busy with everything else. Truth is, we've never made it a priority. So as we celebrate our "get to do" noodle, we decided to finally record that album that we never have the time for. We get to do what we love. So we're doing it! Stay tuned!
