Did you have another baby, have one on the way or are you trying for your second? Well, here's a list of the The TOP 5 Changes With Your Second.......You know, just so you're informed and well prepared :)
The TOP 5 Changes With Your Second.....
1. Designer diaper bags are no longer in the mix.
When you have more than one child, you're in survival mode baby. If you're lucky enough to get out of the house showered, clothed and with all of the proper essentials for a day with baby and toddler, then you don't care what bag you're carrying.
I usually like to switch it up with a shopping bag, ziplock bag stuffed in my purse or my favorite.........a sparkly gift bag. Yes, I actually showed up at play group carrying a gift bag with baby changing supplies and snacks. Don't waste your money on a diaper bag, go for the sparkly and make a statement.
2. A changing table? What's that?
You may have a changing table, but odds are, you probably won't use it. The bed, couch or floor are great options when you need that quick change. And you will need it. Except for when your child starts crawling like a super star. At that point, you'll be changing diapers on the move.....it's quite a sport and really great exercise.
And when they get especially speedy on the knees, use your first born as your secret weapon of distraction. Funny faces and bopping him or herself on the head always does the job.
(Don't ask. Baby changing in my house is quite a scene).
3. The baby book is well, not actually a book.
It's an envelope filled with random notes, sometimes written in code about your baby's milestones. Half of the notes you will not understand because you'll jot them down during what I like to call, glimpses of reflection.......in the middle of the night when you're half asleep, while taking a 5 second shower, folding laundry or when you're driving to work and the car is actually quiet.
4. Time speeds on by really really fast.
You know how fast time flew with your first, so now you'll try your hardest to cherish each passing phase of your baby. Unfortunately, by the time you actually find a second to "cherish" the phase, it will already have passed. One day you'll wake up to an eight year old and say, "When did you start eating solids kid?"
5. You get even more confused.
When you had your first, you thought about all the time you had to yourself before a baby. Then you have a second and you think about all the free time you had when you only had one.
I can't imagine what happens with a third.......
