Ursula and her, soon to be five year old daughter, Gracie are on the Noodle Spotlight! Ursula lives in New Jersey with her husband, Marc and works part-time as a physical therapist.  Gracie and Ursula are always thinking outside the box and having fun Taking On The Creative together.  Their noodle adventures always lead to lasting memories for the entire family to enjoy.

Tell us about your NOW (Noodle On The Wall) with your child?

Max and Millie’s Birthday Party!!!!  My daughter, Gracie definitely brings out my creative side.  So, as our dogs’ birthday was approaching, she decided to throw them a Birthday Party!!  After all, Max and Millie were turning two and this was a big deal.

We decided to have a little fun with this!!  First, we made Dog Bone shaped invitations and sent them to all of our neighbors, friends and family.  My daughter had a blast tracing actual dog bones and then cutting them out!!  She addressed them to all of her friends!  To my surprise, most of the people we invited were excited to attend Max and Millie’s Birthday Party at our local dog park.  What could be more fun than spending a beautiful Saturday morning at the dog park with lots of four legged friends!

Max and Millie partied with style!  Gracie and I made them a cute dog shaped cake (1/2 with pink icing for Millie and ½ with blue for Max), and we brought coffee, juice and munchkins!

The pups had a blast playing ball, opening tasty presents and being the center of attention.  All the kids loved singing happy birthday to Max and Millie and even got to take home little goodie bags.

What role does creativity play in your home?

I am not the most creative person by nature.  However, my daughter’s enthusiasm for all things creative makes me want to plan lots of fun and creative projects for her each day.  We love doing crafts.  One day we built a solar system because Gracie woke up asking to learn about planets.  After returning from a trip to Disney world last spring, we decided to create our own Disney World right in our back yard.  This was quite an undertaking but my daughter enjoyed every minute of it.  We were outside for hours and we ended up with the whole neighborhood helping us to create our fun “pretend” amusement rides.

What inspires you to take on the creative with your kids?

My daughter’s enthusiasm and imagination inspires me to Take On The Creative.  I love to see her face light up when we start a project or take on one of her elaborate ideas.

How do you nurture your child's creativity?

I nurture my daughter’s creativity just by embracing her ideas and letting her run with them.   Even when it means turning the whole house up-side down!!  Ha Ha!

What sticky noodles can you offer other Moms taking on the creative with their kids?

Embrace the mess.  You can clean up later.  Have fun with your kids!  You are making memories for them and for you that will last a lifetime!

What is your child's ideal noodle dish?

My daughter can create a whole exciting world out of practically nothing at all.  For kids, there is no limit to their creative energy.

Ursula, what a fun thing to do. However, next time I hope you will invite Max and Millies' cousin Coby. We will not tell him he was left out this year if you promise to let him come to the next one. Thanks in advance..Uncle Pat and Aunt Beth

Welcome to the Noodles On The Wall Blog, a place where I share the trials and tribulations of a creative noodle maker. (That's me!) My life is full of noodles and I've learned it takes a dash of inspiration and a pinch of creativity to throw them up on the wall to see if they stick. Hope you stick around!
