MAMA NOODLES - Start A Brand New Day Magic Wand Project

Recently, my son and I had one of those days.  You know, the kind of day when getting out of bed maybe isn't the best decision ever made.  Unfortunately, we didn't just get out of bed....we fell hard to the floor and ended up with a big chip on both of our shoulders.  From the moment we crossed paths, we both knew, it wasn't going to be a great day.  We were grumpy, whiny, tired and truthfully, not feeling like ourselves.  After we both ended up crying over why it takes so long to get dressed and put shoes on, I knew something had to shift.  I decided that we needed a change of scenery, so we went outside for a walk around the yard.

On our stroll, my son collected sticks while I tried to make peace, "I'm sorry that we're having such an off day bud.  I wish we could start today over."  He looked up at me and smiled, "like magic?"  I took one look at those beautiful sticks in my son's hands and my mama light bulb turned on.  "You know what we're going to do today bud?  We are going to make our very own magic wands and start today all over again."  My son's face lit up as we ran inside and rummaged through our craft box.  We took out buttons, stars, hot glue, paint, stones, rope......anything that would work on our, Start A Brand New Day Magic Wand Project (is that a tongue twister or what?).
First, I cut the bark off with a butter knife while my son peeled
the remaining pieces.

Then we sanded the stick to make them nice and smooth.

We taped the sharp ends of the sticks with painter's tape and
added some color.

Using a hot glue gun, we added stars, gems and anything we could find in the house for some "extra magic and positive energy."

And when we were all done, we waved our magic wands in the air and proclaimed the start of a brand new day full of smiles, love and fun.

And it turned out to be just that.

Welcome to the Noodles On The Wall Blog, a place where I share the trials and tribulations of a creative noodle maker. (That's me!) My life is full of noodles and I've learned it takes a dash of inspiration and a pinch of creativity to throw them up on the wall to see if they stick. Hope you stick around!
