With the daily doings of life, I was feeling completely overwhelmed with the clutter in my house. It just felt like I was drowning in disorganized toys and papers! Honestly, I was at a point of no return and I was really getting grumpy about it. But luckily, a death by toys and papers was not my destiny. Why? Because that's when Jennifer Waligora's blog, Happy Place Projects, came into my life.
Happy Place Projects helps under-appreciated and over-extended Mom’s find balance in their lives by providing “soul-centered” organization and design services. Jennifer offers stylish and functional solutions and provides Mom’s with strategies that will allow them to take charge of their house, declutter and find balance in their home, family & life. So when I was introduced to Happy Place Projects I immediately said, "YES PLEASE! SIGN ME UP!"
Jennifer Waligora is a wife and a mom of two. She's also an Interior Designer, Professional Organizer, and “Declutter Coach." She has a passion for design, and believes that "everyone should experience the bliss of having a home that is welcoming, peaceful and organized."
When I asked Jennifer why it was important to have a soul centered home she said......"Mom's need to have time to focus on themselves, and not feel guilty when they do. When a house is organized, everything runs more smoothly and it generates positive energy to everyone in the family. Putting systems in place brings structure to the home and allows everyone to focus and feel balanced. For me, when my home is running smoothly, this is when I can freely focus on myself without worrying about all of the things that need to be done."
Well, I couldn't agree more and I certainly want some of that. So if you are like me, trying to find balance and organization in your home, here are some great ways Jennifer says you can achieve that soul centered home.

Vision Board & Gratitude Center
Wrap a cork board with fabric or grasscloth to create a stylish way to pin up kids artwork, reminders of your goals, or things you are grateful for. Encourage the whole family to post things! Add a chalkboard or dry erase for an easy way to write messages of gratitude, or reminders. If you have the space, you can also reserve an area for a family calendar/message center for a little more organization!

Family Photos In Stylish Frames
Mix it up! Pair a wrapped canvas with a whimsical frame, and add a piece of meaningful art (maybe something from a family vacation?) to create a "family wall."

ADD COLOR!
Don't be afraid to use a little color. Pick your favorite color and use it in accent pieces, or paint a wall or two. Color sets the mood and tone of the home.

Thoughtful Storage
Get creative with boxes, baskets & shelving. Store every day items like blankets, magazines and games where they are easily accessible, but tucked away in stylish, decorative containers.
